Old MacDonald's Farm Felt Puppets - No Sew

Hey Guys,

So I saw these puppets on Pinterest and I was so desperate to make them. My kids LOVE singing Old MacDonald's Farm and I had to make them. The patterns were free from a gorgeous blog Just Another DAy In Paradise, available here.

She sewed hers but seriously I was going to do the whole sewing thing, then I remembered that sewing those tiny bits, who was I kidding! So I decided to hot glue them.

I love how they turned out even if I did totally cheat by using the hot glue.

I did sew button eyes onto the sheep but even that got old so I just glued the rest.

How adorable are these, I think the duck and the dog are my favorites.

DIY Delight or Disaster? Mate I love these, they are the first thing I have really been happy with craft wise all year. Delight! Thanks again to Just Another Day In Paradise for the free (Free may be my favorite word!) pattern, if you want to see her beautifully sewn puppets or plan to cheat like I did with the hot glue, pop over there for the pattern.

Thanks for reading,

Mel xo

  2. Awesome finger puppets, Mel. You obviously don't make a mess with a glue gun like I do. Give me a sewing machine any day... LOL!!!

  3. These are adorable! Very creative. They make me think of Amy at While Wearing Heels because of the felt. :)

  4. So cute, Mel! There's nothing wrong with using hot glue. So, did they have a skit ready and put on a show for you and Jules? Or did they drive you crazy singing Old MacDonald all day long? What a great mom you are!!!

  9. Glue isn't cheating! I glued my kids Halloween costume last year! They look great, and I know they will be played with to death. Big time mom points!

  10. Those are absolutely adorable. There is no way in the world I would try to sew those tiny things together. I'm not sure my fingers would survive the glue gun, either. You should do a video of the kiddos singing with them.

  13. I think the rabbit and the tiger would be my two favorites, that is, if I had to pick, but whom would ever have to pick a favorite on Old MacDonald's farm? That's where all the animals are just happy to be! I'm sure I'm making no sense, but I happen to think your no-sew method would be fun not just to make for the kids, but with the kids, along with hot-glue-supervision, of course. Love them, Mel, and pinned.
