Mini Christmas Wreaths

I love wreaths, but my first and only attempt, until now was a huge disaster, sadly for you guys it was pre blogging and I don't have any pictures but here is what Jule's said upon seeing it, "that's great, ummm is it a steering wheel cover?" which was a lot nicer than the bellows of laughter from my boys. Seriously lucky they didn't get coal that year. But I decided to try a mini version.

I grabbed some curtain rings I had lying around and various wools and ribbons in red and white, which you may have guess are my Christmas colours this year.

Not really keen on this one, who knew you could make a mess of yarn wrapping???

But I added a few tiny little ribbon roses, mate they were a pain to make and I have the glue gun scars to prove it.

This ribbon wrapped one is my favourite simple but stunning, there's that self praise we all adore.

There they all are ready, for hanging.

DIY Delight or Disaster? Well the yarn one is kind of crap but I like the other two and as Meatloaf told us, 2 out 3 aint bad!

Thanks for reading,

Mel xo

  2. These are so good Mel. I love the ribbon one with the bow on it. I wish I had some curtain rings, pinning this and I might do it next year as I'm struggling getting this years decorations finished. Liking your colour combination.

  14. I think they are all adorable- I like the striped one best and may just give this a try with some napkin rings. I really wish you hadn't put that song in my head, though- I always found it kind of depressing. :P

  22. The best part of this is the "mini" version wreaths are so much less intimidating to us homemade wreath challenged people. Thanks!

  25. These are awesome Mel! I made a bunch of these last year with green cording and glitter, and will be making more this year. They're great on gifts and also on the tree of course. There are so many things that can be made with curtain rings. Great job?
