Balloon Balls.

Let's be honest we all LOVE Pinterest! Day after day, minute after minute it gives us yet another fantastic idea. As soon as I saw this one from Kiind I knew I would have to make it. They even included a free pattern here although it's written in Dutch it's pretty simple. The only change I made was putting the felt circle where the balloon goes in on the outside instead of the inside. Not on purpose just didn't take a lot of notice when I was doing it.

This is a great scrap busting delight and the kids LOVE them. Also when the balloon breaks it's inside the bag which is a little safer than popping on the floor. I am always paranoid that the kids will put them in their mouths and will choke.

DIY Delight or Disaster? Love this, Delight! One pin down 6000 to go.

  7. See? You don't want them to choke on a balloon. That proves you ARE an expert at parenting.

  10. I wish I had all day to sit around and make stuff from Pinterest!!These are the cutest, Mel. I think your felt ring adds more detail, I like it! Does the fabric weigh the balloons down so that they are more like a beach ball? Either way, what fun for the kiddies!

  23. I thought I would let you know that I made one! (Cut out enough for four.) I didn't add the one inch around the pattern and it turned out pretty small....blah. Should have turned on Google translate...lol. But it sure is a cute idea. Figure I will sew the remaining three and add them to baby gifts. I will make a few more but bigger for my niece and nephew as they LOVE balloons! Thanks for finding this idea and sharing it Mel!

  26. Our twins loved their balloon balls!! A little tip that I 'discovered' - if you don't add seam allowances to the shapes you get one shaped like a football - Luke loved it!! ;)

  27. Oh how I wish Pinterest was around when my kids were little. I wouldn't allow them to play with balloons for the fear of them choking on them. I actually had a cousin choke on one and it was a close call, after that I was always afraid of them. Definitely pinning this so other moms can let their kids enjoy balloons and so I remember for my eventual grand-babies!!
