Glitter Washers

Morning all,

In my desperation to do something in the heat, that wasn't going to have me leaving me in pools of sweat I thought I'd try my hand at a few of those fun crafts that include lots of drying time.

So you know all those pendants made from washers? I'm kind of obsessed with them. Nat over at Northshore Days inspired me to make some.

Instead of using paper I decided I needed to use glitter because I have an addiction. Not sure if its the sparkles or how attractive my husband looks as he desperately tries to vacuum up the stuff that seems to sprinkle from me wherever I roam. He really loves glitter (I also may be lying)

Supplies:

Coat the washer with modpodge and smother it in glitter, and allow to dry and shake off the excess.

Very carefully apply the dimensional magic and allow to dry - it will dry clear even though it looks cloudy

Glue the bail on and put it on the necklace.

DIY Delight or Disaster? Oh please it's glitter! Delight. Move over bottle caps, Melly has a new love - and needs to slap herself for referring to herself in the third person and calling herself Melly.

Thanks for reading my heat induced ramblings.

Mel xo

  3. Mel, you must have the biggest jewelry box to keep all your beautiful homemade treasures. Who would have guessed that started as a plain washer. Beautifully done.

  5. That's a lovely color, Mel! Does not matter how careful I work with glitter, it is always all over the place {can not understand how so much are flying all over, when the bottle still seems to be at the mark where I started using}

  7. I don't mind having glitter all over. I mind people telling me it's on my face. Of course it is! What glue do you use to attach the bail? I think the granddaughters would like these, don't you?

  20. It looks great. I love the way the Mod Podge makes it looks so glossy on the top.

    It's so weird to hear you talk about the heat too.. We just got 3 inches of the heaviest/wettest snow I've ever seen last night. Now it a slushy mess around here and it's about to freeze again.. Much different from where you are!!

  29. Cute! I love glitter too! Fortunately for me, my hubby doesn't mind it. However, my cousin has banned glitter from his home - even in the form of little sparkles on his daughter's clothes. Lol! Love live glitter!
